WELL.
Firstly, I am thankful to the person who posted this. Secondly, I want to state that I have violated most if not ALL of these and ashamed is an understatement Thirdly, I verified all verses myself—this is legit. Fourthly, I need to repent—the sorrow I am feeling is too much.
Lastly, all verses impacted me but there were two that affected me the most.
Proverbs 16:28 “A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.”
I am no saint—let me say that outright—but you see this gossip thing? Maybe if some of us were slow to speak and quick to listen and consider all things maybe…just maybe we would have been friends today. I have tried so hard to not contribute to gossip. A conscious effort was made every time and still is made today. But I was always in the room. I never left. I witnessed it. I even said a few things. I never spoke out against it. Well maybe just one little protest. ONE. Therefore, I am GUILTY by association.
Sigh.
Proverbs 14:10 “Each heart knows its own bitterness and no one else can share its joy.”
That was other one.

Hi Zack, Looking at doing a day trip to a state park. My bag is a tad heavy with all my stuff in it and doesn't leave much room for water or snacks. I like all my lenses (pentax Da*55mm, Tam 10-24mm, DA* 60-250) but I mostly do landscapes. Thought about trying birding but that 60-250 is a heavy lens :P should I just get a bigger bag or leave some at home? I also carry my wireless release, goarillapod, and a few filters. Also how should you change lens in the field w/out dust getting everywhere?
Two schools of thought on this…
A) You need to take the gear you need to take to get the job done. If that means packing all your crap all day long then you do so. It sucks but the final image is worth the crap you go through to get it. You say prayers you aren’t Ansel lugging some wooden 8x10 and tripod through the back country.
B) Travel light and be nimble and enjoy yourself. You make the most out of whatever minimal gear you pack knowing full well whatever you leave at home will be the thing you most want when you find the shot.
I just lugged lights and stands and crap to a location where two aerial silk artists were practicing. Got there. Set up lights. Shot this angle. Shot that angle. It all looked like crap. Ditched the lights and went for motion blurred silhouettes.

Should have just taken one camera over my shoulder. Had I done that I’d been complaining I didn’t have lights.
If this day trip is about the photographs then you take your gear. If it’s more about the time spent in the woods and you get a shot or two then travel light. If you’re getting paid take what you need then some. Doing it for pleasure then let it be more about pleasure than work.
Changing lenses without dust? Turn off the camera. Get the new lens ready, make the change quickly. Try not to do it in dusty conditions. Keep a blower or Arctic Butterfly handy if it get’s dusty. Don’t fret too much if it does. It’s going to no matter what. :)
Cheers,
ZackLoading...
